About Us
Prairie Mountain Pet Resort has been in business since the year 2000, and periodically offer services and/or financial assistance to foster agencies, including the SPCA.
We began our little venture with 3 sled dogs, expanded to 11, and ended up with 16. Our kennel name was developed partly due to our facility being located in the same area as Mt Blackstrap. The man-made mountain was built for the 1971 Canada winter games, but has since closed. However, many people continue to enjoy Blackstrap Provincial Park. The other part of the kennel name seemed even more meaningful because of our snow dogs.
Our very first customer found us while our facility was in the early construction phase. As a result, his dog had the honour of staying at the house initially. To this day, that customer continues to use our services even though Tyson has departed. They now have a new companion with what seems to be an endless amount of energy. Thank you Maxine and Ian for your dedication to us.

Business Hours
Sunday-Friday 9AM – 6PM. *Check out time 1pm to avoid being charged for the day of pick up
Operational 365 days per year providing pet care 7 days a week, but closed for drop offs/pick ups on Saturdays to perform scheduled maintenance, while we provide pet care.
Inquire about drop off and pick up times on Holidays.
Five (5) day minimum lodging at Christmas.
Two (2) day minimum lodging on weekends.
We do not offer daycare.
Premiere Pet Hotel
Our boarding facility has 25 spacious 4×10 indoor units with a pet window allowing outdoor access to a 4×10 private run. They accomodate cats, dogs, or both. The pet windows remain open until midnight and reopen in the morning, but are subject to rotational closing pending weather or cleaning cycle.
Our facility exceeds CVMA (Canadian Veterinary Medical Association) Standards.
We also provide care for some exotic animals if you provide the cage and food.

Fees
Fees are charged from the day of arrival up to and including the day of departure.
The departure day is free if the pet is picked up by or before 1:00 pm.
After hours fee is $150.00 in addition to the boarding fee and applies to arrivals or departures outside of normal business hours.
